Stem Cell Research

Stem Cell Research began in the 1800's when scientist found they could make cells out of other cells. Scientists work with both human and animal cells. Some events that happened in stem cell history: 1995 first stem cell line taken from a primate
1997 Scientist cloned first lamb 
1998 James Thomson successfully removed cells from spare embryos at clinics and he launched stem cell research into the spotlight for creating the  the first human embryonic stem cell line, which still exists today.
In 2001  President Bush  announced his decision to allow funding for research on existing human embryonic cells created before he announced his decision.
November 2004 Californina gives a budget of $3 Billion Dollars
